Nan Landis Hochberger, MFT, joined the Club Soba team in 2014 as a Clinical Supervisor and Primary Therapist. She has been practicing psychotherapy for 16 years, starting with an interest in child development and parenting which began 25 years ago. As her own children grew, she began to study, and then teach, parenting classes and workshops. She is the author of “Parenting by the Steps,” a guide that combines 12-step spirituality with developmental psychology. Nan gives community lectures on this subject in Santa Monica and West Los Angeles.

As an active 30-year member of a 12-step community, Nan has spent her working life balancing between private practice and chemical dependency recovery programs. She has studied and earned certificates in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Eye-Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and has worked at several treatment programs. Nan believes that in order to heal completely, people need to have a grasp of their own development, and the thoughts, values and beliefs that their families instilled. With this understanding, gentle guidance from others, and a willingness to grow “along spiritual lines,” she believes that people can succeed at this sober-life journey.
